Wear Sky Blue
Community Healing Days
October 19, 20, and 21, 2012

Seasons Greetings! New Year, New Beginnings, New Site!

It’s an exciting time here at Community Healing Network, Inc.

We are working hard to build the foundation for a nationwide network of community healing circles—safe spaces where we can come together as Black people to deepen our understanding of the impact of our history on our emotional lives, share our stories, detoxify our minds and spirits, and tell ourselves a new liberating and empowering story about who we are as individuals and as a community.

We are working with our partners at the Association of Black Psychologists, the Brainwash Resolution Project, Symphonic Strategies, and the City of Tuskegee, Alabama, to

  • Develop a Community Healing Training Manual;
  • Help local leaders in Tuskegee build a city-wide network of neighborhood healing circles; and
  • Create a training template to help us spread the emotional emancipation movement nationwide.
We are also building a new and improved website to better serve you. We will unveil the new site in January 2012.

Until then, we invite you to continue to spread the word about the movement for emotional emancipation and stay connected with us on Facebook and Twitter.

Thank you.

We wish you a safe and restful holiday season and a wonderful New Year.

Wear Sky Blue
Community Healing Days
October 19, 20, and 21, 2012

“Join me in saying ‘yes’ to healing, ‘yes’ to psychological liberation, ‘yes’ to emotional freedom.”Dr. Maya Angelou, Chair, Board of Advisors, Community Healing Network, Inc.

Join us. Sign up to celebrate Community Healing Days and Wear Sky Blue on October 19, 20, and 21, 2012, to take a stand for emancipation from the myth of black inferiority and to show your determination to turn the pain of the blues into the sky blue of unlimited possibilities. And click here for other suggestions of what you can do to help build the movement.

Welcome. Community Healing Network, Inc. (CHN) is building the movement for the emotional emancipation of black people. CHN is the sponsor of the annual celebration of Community Healing Days, on the third weekend of every October, designed to put “time for healing” on the black agenda and to serve as a catalyst for year-round healing initiatives.

We believe that in order to reverse the negative trends in the black community, we must focus our energies on the long-delayed work of liberating ourselves from the myth of black inferiority. We are working to build a nationwide grassroots network of self-help groups focused on emotional emancipation and healing for black people by 2019, the year that will mark the 400th anniversary of the arrival of Africans on American soil--so that we will all see ourselves in a whole new light by the year 2020.

Put “time for healing” on your agenda. Our children are waiting.

Thank you.
Enola Aird, Jill Snyder, Dottie Green, Tarice Gray, Sheila Warren, and all your friends at CHN
